The plunder is on!
Wow! What an interesting last couple of days in microstock... Arrr...there be plunder there...
Dreamstime is now looking to plunder those who are disgruntled about the recent iStock rate changes (see thread here: http://www.dreamstime.com/thread_23946). The second thread about the "rate change followup" is now at almost 3,100 posts (and 155 pages--good luck reading THAT).
I've seen references on iStock and other forums of buyers (yes, buyers, the ones that spend the money) promising to no longer spend money with iStock. There have been several posts on twitter about the same thing. See for yourself..you might have to scroll, though, but the posts are there.
I'm not sure what all this holds for iStock...hopefully it doesn't cause their corporate masters at Getty Images (and further up the food chain Hellman & Friedman) to make iStock walk the plank. If this does transpire, this whole situation this will probably become fodder for MBA and other business classes of how to not do things.
